BACKGROUND

What is Hosted Utilities?

Hosted Utilities is a hosted application which provides an easy entry point into the Canton Network (a public blockchain network) by enabling users to buy, hold, and transfer digital assets in the application which will allow them to participate in apps and services available on the network

What problem is this trying to solve?

There is a high barrier of entry into the Canton Network as participants need to host, build, and maintain their own infrastructure, which deters SMBs and startups from joining and participating in the Canton Network leading to low traffic volumes

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Objective

How might we provide an easy entry point into the Canton Network for small investor organizations who do not want to host, build, and maintain their own infrastructure in order to increase traffic volumes in the network

The Process

DISCOVER

Who is our target user?

Company Size

SMBs and startup investor companies who do not have an internal IT department

Risk

Fall in the middle ground where they are more risk averse than individuals but less risk averse than banks

Technical Expertise

They have low-medium technical expertise. They don’t want to build their own frontend or automations

Control

They don’t need control over their own infrastructure and their own nodes

What are their goals?

Goal 1

Generate revenue form Canton Coin and digital assets on the network

Goal 2

Buy, hold, and transfer digital assets in the Canton Network

Goal 3

Participate in applications and services in the Canton Network

The Challenge

The clock is ticking

The project was only 2 months long with a MVP to deliver at the end. There is also a big lack of engineering resources the people to push this big project forward
